Beginning Grower Support Program

Are You a Beginning Farmer Looking for More Networking Opportunities?

The Kansas Specialty Crop Growers Association is comprised of a variety of growers with different production scales and levels of expertise. Many of these seasoned members have access to resources and knowledge that can be shared with beginning growers. Therefore, KSCGA is working in collaboration with K-State Extension and Growing Growers under a three-year USDA Beginning Farmer/Rancher Development Program grant (BFRDP) to promote networking, training, and support for new growers statewide.

KSCGA Will Be:

  • working to outreach and build awareness and networking for new growers
  • coordinating to put all the many training opportunities available across the state into a single accessible calendar system
  • sharing stories from beginning growers across the state
  • Administering a stipend reimbursement program for networking and training activities for new growers…
